Arriva London to commence operating route 259
Arriva London’s drivers at Tottenham garage are looking forward to commencing the TfL contract to operate route 259 between Edmonton Green and Kings Cross. The new contract, which starts this Saturday 25th March, will have over 60 drivers and 25 new environmentally friendly hybrid buses.
Arriva London General Manager for Tottenham garage, Charlotte Whitfield, said:-
"A huge amount of preparation was required ahead of Saturday 25th, with several garages involved in a complex movement of buses across our business. Our recruitment campaign has seen an influx of new drivers joining us, who, along with existing drivers, received the appropriate training to become familiar with route 259 and the new hybrid buses they will be driving. It really has been a tremendous team effort and I am confident we will provide a great customer experience."
Sabina Asif, who has been a bus driver for five years, said:-
"I am really looking forward to driving route 259, I went over the route the other day and it seems like a nice route to drive and the new buses are nice too."
Route 259 will operate for over 21 hours of the day, with the first bus commencing just after 4am to the last one arriving at Edmonton Green shortly before 1:30am. The service will run every 7-8 minutes during the day.
