Passmores' pupils go for gold!
A group of students from Passmores Academy, Harlow wanted to travel in style to their end of year prom last Thursday (July 28) so they hired a classic gold Routemaster bus from the Arriva London Heritage Fleet.
The iconic London bus, which was painted gold for the Queens Golden Jubilee in 2002, made a fitting backdrop for photo’s as well as a perfect vehicle to transport twenty-eight of the students.
Molly Jones, who organised the bus, said: "There were a large number of us who wanted to travel together, but too many for a Limo.
"We wanted to be different, so I asked my dad if he could organise the bus; it was a great way to travel and saved us some money too."
Molly’s dad works for Arriva, so he was able to drive the bus for free which meant that the profits from the hire could be donated to Maggies' Cancer Caring Charity, Arriva London’s chosen charity partner for 2012.
