The recent 125th anniversary celebration of the North London Bounds Green Bowls and Tennis Club was no exception, as Arriva London donated special prizes for the recent President’s Day on Sunday 8th July.

Fred Purse, the current Club President, a retired manager from Arriva, was on hand to present the trophies to the winners, which were replica blinds of route 125 which runs close by the club.

Fred said, “Your donation of prizes and tour tickets was very much appreciated and the uniqueness of the route blinds as trophies was specially symbolic during the celebration of our 125 year anniversary and was the talking point of all who attended.

The purpose of the day, apart from enjoying yourself, is to raise money for a charity of the President’s choosing, and for 2012 my charity is Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and the day raised £1,000 which was really amazing”.
