Controller Stories
Andy Johns
Having the chance to be a team player was the main reason Andy Johns wanted to become a controller with Arriva London.
An added bonus was the opportunity to rise to a new challenge.
Andy, who is based at Edmonton, said: “I was a self-employed car driving instructor before so much of my time was spent working on my own. Now, I’m part of a big company and a great team.
"I found the training to be comprehensive and it was particularly helpful that it had been geared towards someone like me who knew little about the bus industry.
"It’s going to take months, if not years, to fully learn the ropes, but every day I’m gaining more experience. Now that we’ve come through the training it’s good to be able to put what we’ve learnt in the classroom into practice on the road."
