Engineer

Our Engineering programme at Arriva London is fundamental in providing a clean and safe environment for our customers and staff. With over 400 engineering and cleaning staff looking after more than 1500 vehicles across 15 sites, it is the bedrock of Arriva London’s operation.

Our standards are high and we recruit both experienced and inexperienced staff. We offer full training to NVQ level 3 for the right candidates. There is also opportunity for further training and promotion, in fact the majority of our engineering management team were once bus mechanics themselves.

The engineering roles at Arriva offer an interesting and rewarding career. Our engineering staff normally works a 38hour week with varying shift patterns, depending on the grade and location. We expect all our staff to be flexible so a typical example that a member of the engineering staff could be expected to work is:

Mon-Fri middle shift 07:00 to 15:00
Running Shift 7 day rota, early and late shift
Permanent Night shift 22:00 to 06:30
