Cleaner Shunter

Quite often the unsung heroes of the bus industry, the role of the cleaner-shunter is one of the most important.

With the average Arriva London bus travelling more than 100 miles every day, they soon begin to suffer from London's daily grime, not to mention the thousands of passengers that leave their rubbish behind. This creates a mammoth task to keep them clean and tidy, which falls to the army of dedicated cleaner-shunters situated around Arriva London.

Every time a bus comes into the garage at the end of its duty, it must be fuelled, washed and given a full interior clean, before being parked up, ready for service the next day.  Although this is normally done at night, we also have cleaners who keep our buses, garages and offices looking great during the day.
