Jubilant ping pong team clean up at workforce tournament

Ping London's Arriva London Team 2010 - Winner, Phil ClarkPing London's Arriva London Team 2010 - Winner, Phil ClarkArriva London’s entry into Ping London’s workforce tournament, held at Victoria Embankment Gardens on Saturday (August 14), was a resounding success. Not only did they take the team award but also the first, second and third places in the individual competition.

Ping London's Arriva London Team 2010 - Runner-up, Stephen CarterPing London's Arriva London Team 2010 - Runner-up, Stephen CarterArriva’s deputy operating manager Phil Clark took the top spot after beating Croydon storeman, Stephen Carter in a nail biting final with Wood Green driver, Colin Julian clinching third place.

Tournament winner Phil, a keen player for a number of years, said: “It was a really great day and all of the team played really well.

“Ping London has sparked a renewed interest in table tennis at Arriva London and we hope to hold some tournaments of our own in the future.”

As a result of their success Phil has won the chance to play against world winner Matthew Syed inside a pod on the London Eye and the Arriva team has won a brand new table to hone their skills.
