Darren crowned Top London Driver

Darren Kelly Arriva Top London DriverDarren Kelly Arriva Top London DriverIt’s official, Arriva’s Darren Kelly is named Top London Driver in the national bus driver of the year finals in Blackpool on Sunday (September 5)

Darren from Beddington Farm garage was one of four Arriva London drivers to take part in the finals. He not only took the top London spot but the best Arriva driver trophy as well.

Arriva London’s assistant training manager, Jeff White said: “It’s a really tough two days for our guys and it’s always a great achievement to come away with a trophy or two.

“A lot of people put a great deal of effort into our preparations for this event, the staff and friends and family of our competitors. I’m really proud of all of them.”

Measuring kerb distanceMeasuring kerb distanceThe headquarters for the event is the Hilton Hotel on Blackpool’s North Shore, where the theory tests are held and the awards ceremony takes place. Competitors are assessed on a wide range of disciplines which seeks to simulate a driver’s normal working day.

The other Arriva London drivers taking part were Osas Izekor from Lea Valley, Mario Louca and Terry Gomm from Wood Green.
