Arriva London shortlisted for three top industry awards
The Clapton garage teamAn Arriva London bus garage has been shortlisted for a top industry award for providing great levels of service over a sustained period.
Clapton garage based in Hackney, East London, which serves a total of 124 vehicles, was nominated for the London Bus Garage Award at the 2011 UK Bus Awards.
The 124 buses run on three high frequency routes, two of which run to Central London, Victoria Station (route 38) and Tottenham Court Rd (Route 242 - a 24 hour service).

“It’s great to see industry experts have recognised how hard we have worked to ensure London receives the best possible service.”
The London Bus Garage Award rewards the best garage with a cash prize to be used on facilities to benefit the team who deliver the best service on a day-to-day basis.
Two Arriva London drivers have also been shortlisted for an award for their outstanding customer service.
John Gibbs and Ray Purcell are both in with a chance to become this year’s Top London Bus Driver, following their nomination at the 2011 UK Bus Awards.
The title of ‘Top London Bus Driver’ is awarded to the bus driver who has best demonstrated excellent customer service over the past 12 months.
John joined the industry back in 1985 and has been a driver at Norwood ever since, delivering outstanding service to passengers throughout his time at the company. John is due to retire in 2012.
Ray PurcellRay has worked in the bus industry for 15 years and is well regarded by those who have worked alongside him. Throughout his long and distinguished career, Ray has received two excellent driving observations and a commendation from a member of the public regarding his professionalism, stating that Ray "epitomises the ideal bus driver".
Dave Jones, Commercial Support Manager said: “We are delighted John and Ray have been shortlisted for this award, and have been recognised for the excellent service they have provided to passengers over the years.
