Route One say ‘excellence’ is the by-word for these awards, and the aim as always is to identify and reward the best operators and people in the coach, bus and minibus sectors.

Arriva London’s environmental strategy has always been to lead from the front, and this award recognises that achievement. Arriva London have, in partnership with Volvo, been leading the way with the introduction to their routes of hybrid double decks.

"We will have over 130 hybrid double deckers by mid-2013 on central London routes. As a major London bus operator, we wanted to demonstrate our commitment to hybrid technology. Our route 73, one of London's busiest and biggest routes, will be 100% hybrid by the end of this year.
