The bus, decorated with balloons & flags from across the globe and panels giving details of how the trust works, escorted representatives of Lloyd’s, both young and old, along the route as they distributed gifts and information to the crowds.

Lloyd’s also provided a lively band and singer, who played all through the parade from the lower deck of the bus, helping the parade really go with a swing.

The Lloyd's Register Educational Trust is an independent charity operating throughout the world. It was established in 2004 by the Lloyd's Register Group. The Group's Constitution requires it to enhance the safety of life and property at sea, on land and in the air. Further, it requires the organisation to support public education within the transportation industries, engineering and technological disciplines.

He has been a bus driver for over 30 years and has recently been nominated for a National award for his exemplary driving during that time.

His co driver for the day, Phil Snell, was driving in the parade for the first time and said "it was a great experience and such a privilege to be there".

Arriva worked closely with Lloyd’s Register to make sure the bus reflected the work they do across the globe, the windows of the bus being decorated with display panels illustrating their sponsorship of David Florence, the Olympic Canoe Slalom Silver Medallist, and the advertising panels displaying the work of their Educational trust.
