Four Arriva London garages raise money for Macmillan Cancer
Last Friday was Macmillan Cancer Support’s coffee morning, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and the annual flagship fundraiser for the charity which was celebrating its 25th birthday that day.
The idea remains simple: Macmillan wants people to be getting together with family, friends or colleagues over coffee and cake, to raise money for people affected by cancer and that’s exactly what four of Arriva London’s garages were doing last Friday.
The garages taking part were Clapton, Brixton, Thornton Heath and Tottenham, and the total raised was £2,838.11.
The cakes came in all shapes and sizes, many of them home made and some bought in as speciality designs for the event.
All agreed it was a great day of fund raising and that it definitely is in the calendar again for next year.

Pupils of St. Joseph’s RC Infant & Nursery School, Upper Norwood, decided to contact Arriva London’s Norwood Garage to ask for a little help.
The 2015 celebration of International Women’s Day has prompted Arriva London to talk to some of its female staff, and see how things have changed since their time with the company.
Transport for London (TfL) has announced that Arriva has been awarded the contract to operate route 312, which will become the first route in London to be operated entirely by electric buses.
To start the year in a positive way and finish off the celebrations for the Year of the Bus, Arriva London’s Heritage Fleet RMC 1464 ‘The Open Topper’ was invited to join the New Year’s Day celebration parade through the streets of London.

The initiative by Transport for London (TfL), Arriva London and UK bus manufacturer Optare saw two of the latest electric buses introduced to the capital’s fleet.
