Four Arriva London garages raise money for Macmillan Cancer
Last Friday was Macmillan Cancer Support’s coffee morning, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and the annual flagship fundraiser for the charity which was celebrating its 25th birthday that day.
The idea remains simple: Macmillan wants people to be getting together with family, friends or colleagues over coffee and cake, to raise money for people affected by cancer and that’s exactly what four of Arriva London’s garages were doing last Friday.
The garages taking part were Clapton, Brixton, Thornton Heath and Tottenham, and the total raised was £2,838.11.
The cakes came in all shapes and sizes, many of them home made and some bought in as speciality designs for the event.
All agreed it was a great day of fund raising and that it definitely is in the calendar again for next year.

The new buses were initially delivered from Wrightbus in Northern Ireland to Arriva’s North London Edmonton garage, where they were checked and prepared for going into service.
We will have a much larger presence in the parade this year, with the introduction of our Platinum Payroll Giving bus HV64 to accompany RMC 1464.
The new contract has seen the introduction of twenty-two new Euro 6 compliant Wrightbus StreetLite single-deck buses, the first to be introduced to Arriva London’s fleet.
Momentum held the Family Fun Day picnic and the Golden Bus Trip for around a dozen families that it supports, who have children currently undergoing cancer treatment or who are in remission.

When Arriva London started their Payroll Giving promotional program in 2014, encouraging more staff to get involved with giving to charity through the Payroll Giving scheme, they didn’t realise how welcoming the staff would be to the idea, and how generous the Payroll Givers would be.
