Arriva London buses wrapped in Poppy livery
In support of this year’s Poppy Appeal a number of Transport for London vehicles including two Arriva London buses, have been covered in poppies.
Arriva London is proud to be included in what has now become an annual tradition, the wrapping of London buses in poppy livery.
Two Arriva London buses together with six others have been wrapped, and two Circle line Tube trains. All London Underground, London Overground and DLR trains also have poppies on the front and back of every train, as a mark of respect for the sacrifices made by London’s service men and women, past and present.
This year marks the 92nd year of the London Transport Old Comrades Association. They were given the right to march by King George V in honour of the staff of the London General Omnibus Company in 1920, who drove buses to the front line in France and Belgium from 1914 to 1918.
This year fifty Old Comrades, led out by John Norris, a retired London bus driver who served in the Royal Engineers from 1964-1967, continue the tradition of marching alongside the Armed Forces and will lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in the Annual Remembrance Sunday parade on 8 November in honour of the 4500 transport workers who died in two World Wars and other conflicts.

Last summer, we were delighted to be awarded the contract from TfL to operate route W4 running from Oakthorpe Park Estate to Tottenham Ferry Lane estate, operating from Wood Green garage.
As part of our commitment to developing our business, we invest heavily in training for all of our staff to offer the great customer experience. We also look at other ways in which we can develop our relationships with the communities we serve, and allow them the opportunity of learning about our processes and to meet some of the team.
Over the past few months we have been working with TfL, conducting Accessibility Awareness forums at our garages.
Doing the right thing, one of our four brand values, is what we have been doing for the last six years by encouraging all of our employees to give to their favourite charities through our Payroll Giving scheme - during this time, they have given more than £1,000,000 pounds to over 160 charities.
