Arriva London helps Eldon Primary School celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday
Our open-top Heritage Fleet Routemaster, RMC 1464, held pride of place as part of Eldon Primary School’s celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday. The school field saw nearly 1500 children and staff have a wonderful party, with their head-teacher dressed as Her Majesty the Queen on the top deck of the bus.
The school choir, along with several other groups, performed the National Anthem. They also tried for the musical bumps record and are sending the video off to the Guinness Book of Records!
There was lots of dancing, along with fire-eating and stilt-walking from one of their very talented teachers.
The school wrote a lovely letter of thanks to everyone involved from Arriva London, which ended with the following:
“We are extremely grateful to you and all the staff at Arriva for making this event extra special for us. The children loved being able to explore the red bus, and for them it was the highlight of the entire day.”
The school held a raffle and managed to raise enough money to purchase a brand new sound system; their day was a resounding success!
