Arriva London helps Momentum give families a golden day out
Around 65 children and parents supported by Momentum children’s charity were treated to a very special trip to see the Christmas lights in London’s Regent Street last Saturday.
Arriva London's gold Heritage Fleet bus, RM 6, transported the children, who have either battled cancer or are still undergoing treatment, to Leicester Square, where they visited a Christmas market, enjoyed a trip to M&M world and then went on to see the beautiful angel decorations and Christmas lights in Regent Street.
Each of the children received a goody bag from Momentum with a Christmas decoration, a balloon, a glow-stick, sweets and chocolates and a Christmas Santa hat amongst other treats.
The Christmas Golden Bus Trip has become an annual day out; We donate a driver and the use of RM 6 for the day, to transport the families on the trip.
Mum Tamsin Sharland, whose eight-year-old son Sam is currently fighting leukaemia, said: “It was so lovely to see the lights, a real treat, especially as Sam will have to have another course of chemotherapy over Christmas. We always love going on Momentum’s trips.”
Momentum Family Support Worker Rebecca Gilligan said: “The Golden Bus Trip was magical. It was such a lovely opportunity for the familiies to get together and get into the Christmas spirit. The lights in Regent Street were beautiful and of course the children loved the trip to M&M world. All in all it was a brilliant day out.”
And she added: “As always, we are hugely grateful to Arriva London for lending us their golden bus and driver. It is with the kind support of such companies and individuals that we are able to give our brave children such wonderful trips and treats.”

Arriva London supports local communities in many ways, so when asked to be involved in this project for yet another year, the decision was an easy one.
