Arriva London’s Heritage Fleet open-topper bus helps bring Christmas to London at the Hamley’s Toy Parade
‘Christmas comes but once a year, but when it does it brings good cheer’ and that’s exactly what Arriva London’s iconic open-top red Routemaster helped to do last weekend at the Hamley’s Toy Parade in Regent Street.
Hamleys, celebrating its 255th birthday, brought the magic of Christmas to Regent Street with the biggest toy parade London has ever seen. Characters including Barbie and her pink Limo, Elmo & Phoebe, Furchester Hotel, Fireman Sam, Hello Kitty, Ice-age Sid and Scrat, Miffy, Peppa Pig, The Gruffalo, Transformer Optimus Prime Truck and many more all made a special appearance.
The Arriva Heritage Fleet bus also had a special appearance to make, as it delivered Father Christmas and the famous Hamley's Elves to greet the crowds on this magical day; the parade was topped off with a spectacular fireworks display, completing a memorable day for all.

The London Bus Awards gives TfL and bus operators the opportunity to recognise the commitment demonstrated on a daily basis from drivers, support teams and frontline TfL staff. The London bus network would not be the same without people of such a high calibre as those nominated for the awards.

The ethos behind Arriva London’s Heritage Fleet is to maintain a moving history of London, and to this effect buses from the fleet are often invited to prestigious days out to continue that theme.
Arriva London has recently been awarded the prestigious Platinum Award for Payroll Giving by the Charities Aid Foundation. The award is given to those organisations who have achieved twenty percent or more of their staff giving to charity through a Payroll Giving scheme.
