Four Arriva London garages raise money for Macmillan Cancer
Last Friday was Macmillan Cancer Support’s coffee morning, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and the annual flagship fundraiser for the charity which was celebrating its 25th birthday that day.
The idea remains simple: Macmillan wants people to be getting together with family, friends or colleagues over coffee and cake, to raise money for people affected by cancer and that’s exactly what four of Arriva London’s garages were doing last Friday.
The garages taking part were Clapton, Brixton, Thornton Heath and Tottenham, and the total raised was £2,838.11.
The cakes came in all shapes and sizes, many of them home made and some bought in as speciality designs for the event.
All agreed it was a great day of fund raising and that it definitely is in the calendar again for next year.
Nik Partou, Arriva London’s Communication Support Manager said:
“It was a real fun day at the garages, and even more pleasing as many of Arriva London's staff already support a wide variety of charities week-in week-out, through our Payroll Giving Scheme”.
