Weekend of change for Arriva London
Route 341It was a busy weekend at Arriva London with two new routes, schedule changes and a complete change of bus type for route 149 to contend with.
As part of the Transport for London contract tendering process Arriva London welcomed the route 341, which runs from Waterloo station to Angel Road superstore's Edmonton, to Lee Valley garage and route 150, which runs from Becontree Heath to Chigwell Row, into Barking garage on Saturday (October 16). Using brand new buses both routes got underway without a hitch.
Along with the 38 new buses for routes 150 and 341, Arriva London welcomed 75 drivers who had transferred from First Bus Group with the routes.
Route 149, which runs from Edmonton Green to London Bridge station, also had a complete
Route 149makeover with 37 new double deck buses replacing the bendy buses previously on the route. Also as part of the contract change the route 349 had a new schedule introduced to reflect the change in route length. It now operates between Stamford Hill and Ponders End.
Staff had worked hard behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to the changes which paid off as the only changes that customers noticed was the new buses.
