Barry see's red for the 'Last' time

Proud of his workProud of his workColleagues past and present gathered at Arriva Enfield's accident centre to say farewell to painter, Barry Last on his retirement after 36 years service.

Barry "The Brush" began his illustrious career as a vehicle painter at Walthamstow bus garage in May 1975, he then had a spell at Palmers Green from 1980 to 1997 before transferring to Enfield where he became an integral member of the accident centre.Barry masks up RMC 1464Barry masks up RMC 1464

During his time at Enfield Barry had painted hundreds of buses over the years, the majority being red. but from time to time he got to be a little more adventurous with the colour scheme. Particularly during the Queens Golden Jubilee where he was asked to paint a number of buses gold, including RM6 from the Arriva London Heritage Fleet. One time there was even a black Routemaster painted for Amnesty International.

Former engineering director Ted Millburn made a special return visit to Enfield join Barry's colleagues in wishing him a long and happy retirement.
