Part Time Arriva London Bus Driver Joe Kerr starts "WalkTalk"
Joe Kerr one of Arriva London's part time bus drivers is taking a break from driving for a month this summer, to take part in Walk Talk http://www.walktalk.org.uk www.walktalk.org.uk.
Joe Says
"WALKTALK is a challenging nationwide initiative which aims to bring together people who may otherwise never meet, never talk and, almost certainly, never walk side-by-side.
Spanning the two hundred or so miles from Leeds to London during July and August 2008, WALKTALK is an opportunity for us all to focus on humanity and all that we have in common and to discuss openly, and with mutual respect, the areas where we may not agree.
It has been initiated by my wife Gill Hicks, a survivor of the 7 July 2005 London bombings who lost her legs that day, and myself (both of M.A.D. for Peace), and developed with Zulfi Hussain MBE of Global Promise, and the team at Together for Peace.
WALKTALK with us - for a mile or more - as we pass through your town.
We welcome all support - even if it's just a friendly word as we pass by.
WALKTALK is strictly non-political and non-partisan.
WALKTALK starts on July 19th and finishes in London on August the 17th.
Come and join us on the way, we look forward to walking and talking with you."
