Arriva ladies 'in the pink'
More than 40 women from all over Arriva London met at Enfield’s Trent Park on June 21 to take part in ‘Race for Life’.
Thought to represent every grade that women occupy in the company, they are hoping to raise “as much as possible” for Cancer Research UK.
The Arriva team was organised by Wood Green performance manager Michela Peccolo and customer services manager Linda Saunders, it is the first time such a large number of women from Arriva London have come together for the annual event.
Regardless of their fitness levels they all managed to finish the 5 kilometre course.
Linda said “Some of our colleagues trained to run or jog the course, but others like me were happy to just walk it.”
“Virtually every family is touched by cancer at some time and we’re just doing our bit to raise money for research into treating it.
“It was a fantastic achievement and it was great to see our team wearing their pink Arriva tee shirts. It was like a party atmosphere with people cheering and families enjoying picnics and music on the grass.”
