Radiomarathon says "thank you" to Arriva
Arriva London regularly receives letters from their customers, but were delighted when a giant thank you card landed in the post tray.
It had come from staff and members of the Radiomarathon drama club following a recent theatre trip.
The local based charity which supports people with special needs and their families and carers, recently held a talent show to fund a trip to see The Lion King in London.
Unfortunately there wasn’t enough money to cover the cost of travel to and from the West End so Neil Agambar, who is a vehicle examiner at Arriva’s Enfield garage, knew just the company to turn to for help.
He approached his engineering manager to ask if Arriva could provide a vehicle to take people with special needs to the theatre and following a few phone calls and favours from the operating team a bus was laid on.
Neil, who has been involved with Radiomarathon ever since his girlfriend, Kairi Kaljo, became a receptionist at the charity’s centre in Enfield said: “I’m really grateful for Arriva’s assistance. It was great that the company could show its support for a worthy cause.
“I’ve already helped with a number of Radiomarathon fundraising events, including a bingo night and several fetes, and I’m sure I’ll be lending a hand in the future, too.”
Along with the card was a letter of thanks from the drama team, it said: “The Lion King was an inspiring show and has given the entire group confidence and motivation in working towards our next production.
Without your generosity this trip would not have been possible. Thank you very much again from all at the Drama Club.”
