Arriva on hand for hair-raising World Record attempt

If you want to attempt to break a world record involving a double-decker bus, then who better to call than Arriva London.
That’s exactly what Guinness World Records did when Leicester Ironman Manjit Singh came up with his latest hair brained idea.
RM2217 from Arriva London’s Heritage Fleet took centre stage as Manjit (59), broke the hair-raising new world record for the furthest distance to pull a double-decker bus with hair (21.2 m – 8.5 tons) yesterday (November 12) in Battersea Park, London.
Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief, Guinness World Records, presents Manjit with his Guinness World Record certificateBack in November 2007, his record breaking dreams were dashed when he failed to break the record for furthest distance to pull a double-decker bus with the ears which makes his comeback even more meaningful.
Manjit said: “I will never be discouraged by defeat because I know that success can be waiting around the next corner. The only way to get there is to try again and stay positive.”
RM2217 is no stranger to stardom, it has appeared as the triple-decker bus to promote a Harry Potter DVD and was also London’s last Routemaster to run in regular service.
